I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I've spent quite a few of my adult years in both Texas and California. I love bird watching, biking, chasing dragonflies, reading SFF novels & mysteries, watching baseball and listening to classical music. My passion is photographing birds, bugs, flowers and beautiful scenery of the Southwest and writing about it in this blog.

I'm not a real cowboy, I just play one on social media. Ha! The whole cowboy hat thing came from the years I lived in Texas. I published a newsletter about traditional country music, attended lots of shows and dances, ran a couple of traditional country music websites, and generally made a nuisance of myself. But folks seemed to enjoy it.
